I’m 28, was born in the North West of the UK and have been climbing and traveling since I was 18.
In 2014 I took a year’s sabbatical from my job as Management Consultant to begin a solo adventure around the world.
I started in Chamonix, with a rapid introduction to snow, ice and all things alpine. In October I continued my outdoor adventures in New Zealand. I then had a quick stop off in Oz before having the road trip of a lifetime from Canmore to San Francisco via Zion, Utah, Vagas and the High Sierras.
So far 2016 has been all about learning to backcountry ski when the full time job hasn’t got in the way! In October, I’m heading out to Kyrgyzstan and Nepal to get my first experience of ‘proper’ altitude. In November I will be moving Vancouver.
As I wrote in by first post, this blog is mostly about people and experiences, but also aims to share useful technical and travel information that I’ve learnt along the way. I hope that aspiring alpinists, travellers and armchair adventurers find it useful.
